RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan issued a statement on Friday, December 1st, revealing that Ismatullah Irgashev, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, convened with the Ambassador of Sweden, Tomas Danestad. The meeting aimed to delve into the current Afghanistan landscape and explore the potential avenues for bolstering bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Sweden in the context of Afghanistan.

Throughout the discourse, both parties underscored the pivotal role of Uzbekistan in establishing enduring and sustainable peace within Afghanistan. The Swedish Ambassador lauded Tashkent’s humanitarian initiatives aimed at aiding the Afghanistani populace and contributing to the nation’s economic resurgence. Furthermore, deliberations encompassed the ongoing Afghanistan situation, delving into peaceful resolutions and the implementation of diverse infrastructure projects.

It is noteworthy that preceding this session, Irgashev had already engaged with officials from France and Estonia, delving into the role and connections of Uzbekistan in the Afghanistan scenario. These exchanges involved a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted crises afflicting Afghanistan, spanning economic, societal, and political dimensions, with the country grappling with substantial damage to its economic infrastructure under the sway of the Taliban.

Crucially, it is imperative to recognize that since the Taliban assumed control, the Afghanistan milieu has experienced a pronounced deterioration. This has raised significant concerns among international organizations and foreign nations, prompting consistent expressions of apprehension and the provision of humanitarian aid to address the myriad challenges confronting the Afghanistani populace.
