RASC News Agency: Amid a surge in criminal activity across various provinces, local sources in Kandahar report the discovery of a beheaded child’s body in the provincial capital. Sources informed the media on Thursday, June 27, that the mutilated body of the child was found in Kandahar city’s seventh security district. According to the sources, unknown assailants killed the child and then dumped the body in a river within the city.
The sources added that signs of torture were evident on the child’s body. The identity of the victim’s family remains unknown, but the child’s body has been transferred to the provincial hospital in Kandahar. Similar incidents have occurred in Kandahar before. Just two days ago, a father-in-law gouged out his son-in-law’s eyes in Maiwand district. Since the Taliban’s takeover of the country, the rate of criminal activities, particularly mysterious and targeted killings, armed robberies, and kidnappings, has significantly increased in various provinces.
Reports of rising insecurity in various provinces come despite the Taliban’s frequent claims that criminal activities have decreased since their ascension to power. Notably, in many instances, the perpetrators of such crimes are described as unknown individuals and are not pursued, which has facilitated the increase in such criminal acts.
