RASC News Agency: The Taliban group has reportedly carried out punishments and floggings on five individuals in Maidan Wardak province for the offenses of pederasty and adultery. The Supreme Court of the Taliban group released a statement on their social media page, stating that the punishments were executed in public on Monday, November 27th, based on the primary court’s verdict.
Three individuals were punished for the crime of pederasty, while the remaining two were punished for adultery and were publicly flogged. The newsletter from the Supreme Court mentioned that the floggings took place in the Bambay market in the presence of local Taliban officials and residents of Chek district in Maidan Wardak province.
Despite previous reports of similar punishments being carried out by the Taliban group in various provinces of the country, this recent incident has gained attention. On November 11th, the Taliban group also punished and flogged several individuals in Nimroz province on charges of robbery and illicit relations. It is important to note that the Taliban strictly prohibited any filming of the punishment process. These actions by the Taliban group have sparked significant reactions both within and outside the country. Throughout their two-year rule in Afghanistan, the Taliban group has consistently punished and publicly flogged young individuals who have engaged in immoral acts.
Conversely, the media often highlights the criminal activities of the Taliban group within the nation, yet their own courts refrain from imposing any punishment or sentencing on their members. In contrast, this group openly implements punishment and imprisonment for local individuals.
