RASC News Agency: Health officials in Kunduz province have recently announced the opening of the first hemophilia treatment center in the region. This center is expected to provide treatment for hemophilia patients not only from Kunduz province but also from neighboring provinces such as Baghlan, Takhar, and Badakhshan. Previously, hemophilia patients had to travel to Kabul for treatment, as there were no specialized treatment centers in the northern zone. This new center will greatly improve access to healthcare for hemophilia patients in the region.
In addition to the opening of the treatment center in Kunduz, health officials in Balkh province have also established a hemophilia treatment department at Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif. This development further expands the availability of specialized care for hemophilia patients in the country. Prior to these initiatives, the health sector in Afghanistan had been severely affected by the Taliban’s control and the reduction of humanitarian aid. However, these recent efforts by health officials demonstrate a commitment to improving healthcare services for Afghanistani citizens.
Hemophilia is a hereditary disease that impairs the body’s ability to form clots and prevent bleeding. Without proper treatment, this condition can be fatal. The establishment of specialized treatment centers in Kunduz and Balkh provinces is a significant step towards addressing the healthcare needs of hemophilia patients in Afghanistan. Despite the challenges posed by the Taliban’s control, these initiatives highlight the efforts being made to provide better healthcare services and improve the overall living conditions for Afghanistani citizens.
