RASC News Agency: The 11th round of the Herat security dialogue, which focuses on peace and stability in Afghanistan, has commenced in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, as stated in the report. This two-day conference began on Monday, November 27th, with the participation of Rangin Dadfar Spanta, the head of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Strategic Studies of Afghanistan and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. The conference has attracted international experts, politicians, and representatives from various countries who have gathered to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan.
During the opening of the conference, Spanta addressed the challenges that Afghanistan has faced since the fall of the Islamic Republic and the rise of the Taliban group. He highlighted issues such as the mass migration of Afghanistani citizens and the ongoing struggle for women’s rights and freedoms. Spanta expressed his concern about these issues, considering them significant indicators of the dire situation in the country. He also criticized the international community’s approach to engaging with the Taliban group and questioned the effectiveness of such interactions, which may raise doubts and concerns among the audience.
Furthermore, Spanta emphasized the importance of efforts towards integration and an inclusive government in order to establish democracy and genuine peace in Afghanistan while respecting the diverse social, cultural, and ethnic structures of the country. The former foreign minister urged the United States and NATO to take responsibility for the consequences of their withdrawal from Afghanistan. He also called upon international institutions to rectify the current situation and uphold global positions that prioritize the protection of basic human rights and democratic values.
