RASC News Agency: On Sunday, January 7th, reports from Panjshir confirmed that the Taliban group has once again engaged in arbitrary arrests. This time, their target was a young man named Faisal from Panjshir in Nimroz province, forcibly taken to an undisclosed location. Faisal, hailing from Hesa-e-Awal district in Panjshir province, faced a compelled deportation from Iran to Nimroz province while en route to Panjshir. Taliban intelligence arrested him, subsequently transferring him to an unknown destination. The motive behind his apprehension remains shrouded in mystery, with the Taliban group withholding any information on the matter.

The Taliban’s unrelenting pursuit of young individuals and former soldiers has triggered a surge in emigration, with many seeking refuge in Iran and Pakistan, aspiring to reach European countries eventually. These individuals have endured vengeful treatment at the hands of the Taliban, including torture, imprisonment, disappearances, and, tragically, even fatalities. This alarming situation has ignited widespread reactions and concerns among the public.

The lack of transparency surrounding these arrests and the absence of official statements from the Taliban group regarding the rationale behind these actions only serve to compound the already tense situation. The arbitrary nature of these detentions and the subsequent maltreatment of the detainees underscore the pressing need for international attention and intervention to safeguard the rights and safety of the Afghanistani people.

Historically, the Taliban group has targeted a significant number of individuals from non-Pashtun ethnicities. The bulk of these arrests has been concentrated among the residents of Panjshir province, primarily due to their association with the National Resistance Front. Furthermore, these detained individuals have been subjected to brutal torture while under the custody of the Taliban.
