RASC News Agency: The organization known as “Polio Free Afghanistan” recently made an announcement regarding the commencement of their polio vaccination campaign in various regions of the country. This information was shared through a message posted on social media on Monday, November 27th. The institution stated that the campaign would cover various parts of the nation.

The exact number of provinces where “Polio Free Afghanistan” will launch the polio vaccine implementation campaign has not been specified. However, the organization carries out these campaigns periodically, based on the needs of children and the goal of eradicating polio in different provinces. Their aim is to provide the polio vaccine to as many children as possible.

It is important to note that health officials from the Taliban group in Nangarhar province had previously announced the start of a seven-day polio vaccination campaign for over one million children in the region. The deputy governor of the Taliban group for Nangarhar province, Said Ahmad Banori, stated that the campaign would begin on Saturday, November 25th, of the current month and continue for a week. Despite ongoing efforts, Afghanistan and Pakistan remain the only two countries where complete eradication of polio has not yet been achieved, and cases of this disease are still reported in various provinces.

In addition, the health sector in Afghanistan has had to contend with numerous challenges, such as financial limitations and corruption, particularly since the Taliban took control of the country.
