RASC News Agency: Iranian media has reported that three Afghanistani citizens were apprehended by Iranian border guards at the Dogharun-Islam Qala crossing on charges of drug smuggling. According to Iran’s state news agency, IRNA, during an inspection, it was discovered that the individuals had swallowed 3.5 kilograms of industrial drugs. The commander of the Taibad border regiment confirmed that the Iranian border guards retrieved the heroin from the smugglers’ stomachs. The arrested individuals had concealed 2.94 kilograms of compressed heroin in 135 packets, as well as 624 grams of powdered heroin in 50 packets. These drugs were discovered after the Afghanistani nationals were identified. The report states that the defendants have been handed over to Iran’s judicial authorities for further legal proceedings.
