RASC News Agency: Local sources in Sar-e-Pol province have reported that members of the Taliban group deliberately killed Khalilullah Azizi, the former head of the provincial council. The incident occurred after Azizi rejected a marriage proposal for his daughter from a Taliban commander. Eyewitnesses have stated that two Taliban members intentionally collided with Azizi while riding a motorcycle, resulting in his death in Sar-e-Pol city.

Contrary to these reports, local Taliban officials have claimed that Azizi’s death was a mere traffic accident. However, it is important to note that the Taliban group has a history of employing force and violence to enforce their own agenda, particularly regarding marriage matters. Recent incidents, such as the forced marriage of two sisters in Kunduz province and the divorce of a woman in Ghor province, highlight the oppressive behavior exhibited by the Taliban since they assumed control of the country.

Moreover, since the Taliban’s takeover, Afghanistan has lacked a functioning judicial system to hold such perpetrators accountable for their actions. This absence of justice has enabled the Taliban to persist in their violent and oppressive behavior towards Afghanistani citizens, resulting in the loss of innocent lives. It is crucial for the international community to address this issue and provide support for the establishment of a fair and impartial judicial institution in Afghanistan, ensuring the safety and well-being of its people.
