RASC News Agency: Local sources from Ghazni province reported on November 21st that a new high school building has been completed and is now operational in Jaghori district. The construction of the building was made possible through the financial contributions of local residents and Afghanistani citizens living abroad. The high school, named “Sar Tala” high school, has two floors and 12 classrooms and office rooms, as well as a computer class, a laboratory, a kindergarten, and a library.
The building of the high school was initiated by the “Baran” charity foundation and was constructed at a cost of 14 million Kabuli rupees, the current currency of Afghanistan. The total area of the high school, including its sports field, is 3,600 square meters. This is not the first time that the residents of Ghazni province have taken it upon themselves to repair and construct school buildings at their own expense, despite the challenges posed by the Taliban’s control of the country.
The Taliban’s rule has had a profound impact on the education system in Afghanistan, with girls above the sixth grade being prohibited from attending school. Despite the group’s claims of improving the country’s economy, they have not paid any attention to the reconstruction sector, including the building of better schools and grounds for education. However, the completion of the “Sar Tala” high school is a testament to the resilience and determination of the local residents and Afghanistani citizens living abroad to provide better educational opportunities for the youth of Ghazni province.
