RASC News Agency: Martin Griffiths, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, recently announced that the UN plans to provide $10 million in assistance to migrants expelled from Pakistan to Afghanistan. Griffiths raised this issue on Monday night, November 20th, through a message on social media platform X, stating that this assistance will be provided from the United Nations Emergency Fund to address the needs of the migrants expelled from Pakistan.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations added that it is hoped that the dedicated assistance for these migrants will be used to address their immediate needs as displaced persons and refugees expelled from Pakistan to Afghanistan. This comes as the International Rescue Committee previously expressed concern about the situation of the migrants expelled from Pakistan, stating that they face harsh weather conditions and a lack of psychological, social, and primary healthcare support in Afghanistan.
Furthermore, according to the International Rescue Committee, the migrants expelled from Pakistan have lost all their assets in Pakistan and are forced to start from scratch upon their return to Afghanistan. It should be noted that previous reports indicated that the Taliban in Afghanistan are not capable of managing and providing a conducive living environment for the migrants expelled from Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that, based on information, the expelled migrants from Pakistan face numerous challenges in accessing better living facilities in Afghanistan, and it is said that they will face difficulties with the arrival of winter.
Earlier, the World Health Organization stated that the influx of a massive wave of migrants and their situation inside camps increases the risk of disease outbreaks among them.
