RASC News Agency: Khalil Rahman Haqani, the Acting Minister of Refugees and Returnees for the Taliban, recently addressed the issue of Afghanistani immigrants being forcibly expelled from Pakistan and Iran. During a public meeting in Kapisa province on November 16th, Haqani highlighted the importance of cooperation with immigrants returning to Afghanistan. He also emphasized the need to provide job opportunities for these individuals upon their return. Reports indicate that the migrants returning to Afghanistan are facing significant challenges. They currently lack access to adequate living facilities within the country and are living in a state of disorder. This situation highlights the urgent need for support and assistance to facilitate a smoother transition for these returning immigrants.
It is worth noting that despite facing international criticism, Pakistan has persistently continued its efforts to expel undocumented Afghanistani immigrants. This has raised concerns among migration organizations, particularly as Afghanistan is already grappling with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Herat. The sudden influx of migrants adds another layer of crisis to an already dire situation.
Furthermore, the Taliban group has struggled to effectively manage the returning migrants and provide them with a suitable living environment. The international community, including the United Nations, has called upon Pakistan to halt the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees in order to prevent further destabilization within Afghanistan. These challenges come at a time when the country’s economy, social fabric, and humanitarian conditions are already severely strained under Taliban rule. In fact, the World Bank has issued warnings of an impending economic collapse.
