RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Migrants of the Taliban group has announced a meeting between Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the Minister of Migrants of the group, and the European Union’s aid official, criticizing the distribution of global assistance in Afghanistan.

During the meeting with the European Union official, the Taliban’s Minister of Migrants expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the European Union to Central Asia. However, he emphasized that the current method of aid distribution in Afghanistan is flawed, resulting in the wastage of many resources. Despite the significant amount of assistance received, the outcomes are not effective.

Furthermore, the Taliban official stated that a substantial portion of global aid is misallocated to administrative matters of institutions and projects that do not require assistance. He urged the European Union to allocate aid to crucial and foundational sectors such as shelter provision for returnees, clinics, schools, and other essential projects.

Haqqani also highlighted that the Ministry of Migrants operates migrant settlements in 28 provinces across the country and appealed for assistance from international countries and organizations to support the housing of returnees in these settlements. The Ministry aims to ensure the necessary preparations for returnees’ basic needs upon their arrival.

It is worth mentioning that during the meeting, the two parties also discussed the challenges faced by Afghanistani migrants, the displaced population resulting from the Herat earthquake, and how to provide assistance to them.

It is important to note that the Taliban official raised these concerns in light of reports suggesting that their own members in various provinces of the country are engaging in unfair and biased practices during the distribution process.
