RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates of the Taliban group has recently announced the return of 5,505 Afghanistani immigrants from Pakistan and 2,730 immigrants from Iran. According to a message published by the Taliban group’s Ministry on social media on Wednesday, November 15th, these migrants, including some prisoners, have been forcibly returned to the country. Information indicates that some of these migrants have been returned to the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings from Pakistan, while others have returned through the Islam Qala border crossing from Iran.
According to the Ministry of Migrants of the Taliban group, an amount of 10,000 kabuli rupees (the local currency) has been distributed to the expelled migrants from Pakistan, and they have also been referred to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration for further assistance. Furthermore, the Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates of the Taliban group added that five of the returning individuals are former prisoners who were taken to Pakistan, and it is said that all of these expelled migrants have returned to the country under duress.
Meanwhile, the United Nations had previously reported that over 327,000 Afghanistani migrants have been expelled from Pakistan and forcibly returned to their country, stating that managing these expelled Afghanistani migrants has become a challenge. It is worth mentioning that earlier, the International Rescue Committee had stated that Afghanistan under Taliban control is unable to absorb the expelled Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan.
