RASC News Agency: In light of recent events, the Taliban group announced on Saturday, November 11th, that a total of 196 Afghanistani asylum seekers have been released from Pakistani prisons. The Ministry of Migrants and Returnees, belonging to the Taliban group, made this announcement through a social network platform. These released asylum seekers were expelled from Pakistan and have now returned to their home country. According to the information shared by the ministry, these individuals re-entered Afghanistan via the Torkham crossing on Friday, November 10th. The ministry also assured the public that immediate assistance would be provided to help these individuals reintegrate into society.
However, the specific crimes for which these individuals were convicted and the durations of their imprisonment in Pakistani prisons have not been disclosed by the Taliban group. Despite multiple instances of releasing Afghanistani asylum seekers from Pakistani prisons, the Taliban has refrained from providing any details regarding the offenses committed by these individuals. On the other hand, the Pakistani government has consistently announced the apprehension and expulsion of Afghanistani asylum seekers. These actions have been taken due to the lack of legal documentation among the asylum seekers and their alleged involvement in suicide attacks within Pakistan. Notably, in just the past month, over 200,000 Afghanistani immigrants have been forcibly expelled from Pakistan and repatriated to their home country.
Following the Taliban’s assumption of power in Afghanistan, their restrictive measures and inappropriate conduct have forced many individuals, including young people, former military personnel, and women’s rights advocates, to flee the nation and seek refuge in neighboring countries such as Pakistan and Iran.
