RASC News Agency: Among the undocumented immigrants who are being forcibly deported from Iran and Pakistan, there are also Afghanistani who served in the security forces during the previous Republic regime. They claim to have come to these countries with the intention of seeking asylum, and if they are sent back to Afghanistan, they will face security threats.
One of the soldiers who served in the National Army of the Republic regime and has now migrated to Pakistan, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says, “I was a military personnel in the previous Afghanistan regime, and I felt threatened there. I came to Pakistan hoping for safety, but I don’t feel safe here either. My visa has expired, and if I am sent back to Afghanistan, my life will be in danger, and I will be one hundred percent targeted.”
The concerns of former government officials are raised at a time when the United Nations Assistant Secretary Office, in its recent report published on 17th September, stated that from August 2021 until June 2023, the Taliban have committed more than 800 human rights violations against former Republic regime military personnel.
According to reports, the Taliban, based on numerous revengeful actions in various provinces, have detained former government officials and subjected them to ruthless torture in their prisons, resulting in deaths in some cases.
However, it should be mentioned that earlier, Amnesty International had stated in a report about Afghanistan that the Taliban, through mass killings of former government officials in Panjshir province and their violent and oppressive behaviors towards Panjshir residents after taking control of the country, have committed war crimes.
At the same time, it is said that the expelled migrants from Pakistan are facing deep human crises and socio-economic challenges in Afghanistan under Taliban rule. According to reports, these migrants, who are being forcibly deported from Pakistan, have nowhere to go within Afghanistan.
Previously, the United Nations stated in a report that the majority of the expelled migrants from Pakistan are children who also faced significant challenges in Afghanistan and may contribute to an increase in child labor with this action.
