RASC News Agency: The European Union’s announcement of a substantial financial aid package of 61 million euros for the people of Afghanistan has come at a critical time. Published on November 7th, the declaration’s primary objective is to support vulnerable individuals across different regions of Afghanistan. Specifically, the aid will target forced returnees from neighboring countries and asylum seekers in Pakistan.
Recognizing the magnitude of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the European Union plans to allocate 60 million euros to humanitarian organizations operating within the country. An additional 1 million euros will be designated for Pakistani organizations. This comprehensive aid package aims to tackle pressing issues like food insecurity, given that nearly half of the country’s population is currently facing severe food shortages.

Moreover, the funds will be instrumental in providing essential support to those affected by the recent earthquake in western Afghanistan. The European Union envisages utilizing the aid to offer shelter, healthcare, water, and food to the affected individuals. Additionally, a portion of the allocated resources will be directed towards assisting refugees who have been forcibly returned to Afghanistan, with a particular focus on their protection and integration within the host society.
In addition to this recent announcement, the European Union has already disbursed 94 million euros of humanitarian aid throughout the year across various sectors in Afghanistan. The urgent need for this assistance has become exacerbated by the predominance of the Taliban and the resulting economic and social crises. As a consequence, the region has witnessed a significant increase in migration coupled with a heightened demand for humanitarian aid among the Afghanistani population.

The European Union’s commitment to providing substantial financial support demonstrates its unwavering dedication to addressing the pressing needs of the Afghanistani people and working towards alleviating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the country. By continuing to invest in Afghanistan, the European Union hopes to bring stability and alleviate the suffering of its people.
