RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, operating under the management of the Taliban, recently announced the establishment of 35 educational centers aimed at providing better learning opportunities for students across the country.
According to a statement released by the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society under Taliban control on Tuesday night November 7th, the objective of creating these educational centers nationwide is to support children and youth who cannot afford the cost of attending private schools.
In the statement, the society revealed that in the past three months, 233 students have been enrolled in the educational centers of the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province. These students will receive education in various fields, including Islamic lessons, the Prophet’s biography, literacy skills, mathematics, English language, and computer skills.
Based on the society’s statement under Taliban control, a total of 45 students have graduated from their educational centers, while 188 others are currently undergoing training.
It should be noted that precise statistics regarding the number of students attending the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society’s centers and whether girls are also present among them have not been provided.
Meanwhile, after taking control of the country, the Taliban banned girls above the sixth grade from attending schools and even blocked university gates for them.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that in addition to the existing challenges in the country, many children are deprived of access to education and cannot attend school due to economic difficulties.
