RASC News Agency: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced on November 5th that South Korea has donated one million dollars to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund. This contribution comes at a crucial time, as Afghanistan is struggling with severe poverty and high unemployment rates.
The aid will be used to support needy families across various provinces in the country. It is worth mentioning that South Korea has actively provided assistance to Afghanistan since 2014, with a total aid amounting to approximately 18 million dollars. These contributions play a vital role in alleviating the dire economic conditions faced by many Afghanistani families.

It is important to highlight that Afghanistan is recognized as one of the eight poorest nations in the world, as stated in a report by the United Nations World Food and Agriculture Program. The country has faced additional challenges due to recent natural disasters in the western region and the forced deportation of asylum seekers, particularly from neighboring countries like Pakistan.
These events have further exacerbated the economic crisis and raised concerns among Afghanistani citizens. Moreover, the restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women and girls have led to a decrease in aid from various countries worldwide.

Given these circumstances, the contribution from South Korea is a significant step towards addressing the pressing humanitarian needs in Afghanistan. The funds will be channeled through the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund to ensure effective distribution to the most vulnerable families across different provinces.
This assistance is crucial in providing relief to those affected by poverty and unemployment, and it serves as a testament to the international community’s commitment to supporting the Afghanistani people during these challenging times.
