RASC News Agency: In continuation of humanitarian assistance provided by countries worldwide to the people of Afghanistan, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced that it will contribute eight million euros to Afghanistan and Yemen.
In a statement released by the Ministry of foreign affairs Austria stated that these contributions are aimed at addressing the needs of those affected by conflict and natural disasters in both countries.
Prior to this, several countries and relief organizations had already announced their assistance to the earthquake victims in Herat. The World Health Organization also previously declared that it provided health aid to nearly 37,000 affected individuals in Herat.
According to the organization, the districts of Zendeh Jan, Anjil, Kushk Rabat Sangi, Gulran, Koohsan, and Herat city have suffered the most damage as a result of recent earthquakes.
Meanwhile, according to the spokesperson of the “Pamir Institute” in Afghanistan, which was published on social media, nearly 44,000 people have been directly affected by the recent earthquakes in Herat, in addition to the victims and injured.
Furthermore, according to reports, UNICEF previously stated that the recent earthquake in Herat province has had the most significant impact on children and women. It is also reported that a large number of women and girls have experienced psychological disturbances as a result of this earthquake.
It should be noted that in addition to the loss of life and financial damage caused by the recent earthquake in Herat province, various infrastructures in the province, especially hospitals, have been affected. According to the United Nations, this damage has impacted the progress of relief efforts.
