RASC News Agency: Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US Department of State, voiced concerns regarding the health conditions of American citizens detained in Taliban prisons. Miller addressed this issue during a press briefing on Monday night, Apr 1, affirming ongoing efforts to secure the release of American detainees from Taliban custody.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, confirmed two days ago that several foreign nationals, including two Americans, are being held in the group’s detention facilities. He indicated that these foreign individuals have been detained for alleged “violations of Afghanistan laws.”
The US Department of State spokesperson declined to comment on inquiries regarding unmanned aircraft surveillance over Afghanistan during the press briefing. In the wake of the ISIS Khorasan branch’s attack on the outskirts of Moscow, aerial surveillance over Afghanistan has intensified, with unmanned aircraft operations observed in at least five provinces.
Responding to these surveillance activities, the Taliban asserted that the US had breached Afghanistan’s airspace. Jan Achakzai, former intelligence minister of Pakistani Balochistan state, alleged that the Taliban had collaborated with US intelligence contractors and established a base in Kandahar for the deployment of US unmanned aircraft.
