RASC News Agency: In the wake of domestic violence incidents across various provinces in the country, local sources in Herat have recently reported the death of a woman under the torture of her husband in the Farsi district of this province.

According to the information provided by sources, this incident occurred on Tuesday night, 23rd of October, in the Farsi district of Herat.

Sources have further added that domestic violence and existing challenges within households have resulted in the death of this woman.

Confirming the incident, the Herat Taliban command also stated that the husband of this woman has been detained by their group.

Abdullah Ansaf, the spokesperson for the Herat Taliban command, explained that the forces of their group apprehended the husband of this woman on Thursday evening while the man was attempting to escape from the house.

This comes as, following the Taliban’s recent takeover of Afghanistan, the cases of domestic violence have witnessed an unprecedented increase throughout the country.

Reports indicate that several women have either committed suicide or fallen victim to murder in various provinces of the country due to domestic challenges in the past week.

In the latest incidents, reports emerged of the suicide of two women in the provinces of Sar-e Pol and Daikundi.

It should be noted that with the rise in challenges in the country, including unemployment, poverty, and mental health issues, women are suffering the most within families.
