RASC News Agency: A high-ranking Taliban official claims that the United States launched an attack on Afghanistan under the pretext of eliminating terrorist groups. However, he emphasizes that the groups seeking refuge with the Taliban are not terrorists, but rather our fellow Mujahideen brothers.
Mullah Abdulatif Mansoor, the Minister of Energy and Water of the Taliban, stated during his visit to Kunduz province on Saturday October 21, that when it comes to the Al-Qaeda network, “We (the Taliban) did not call them a terrorist group then, and we do not call them that now. They were, and still are, our Mujahideen brothers.”
The Taliban’s Minister of Energy and Water referred to the September 11th attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City, stating that those individuals were our Mujahideen and brothers who had suffered from America’s oppression and tyranny.
According to this Taliban official, the leaders of the Al-Qaeda network were not terrorists, but rather great Mujahideen. He further added that the other groups who collaborated with them during the war against America and the former Afghanistani government are also their fellow Mujahideen brothers.
He stated that there is no evidence to indicate that they received support from countries such as Iran, Pakistan, or any other neighboring country during the conflict with the former government’s forces.
He also added that nobody can prove that the Taliban has received any form of support, not even one bullet, from these countries. Furthermore, he emphasized that the Taliban is currently nobody’s servant and does not take orders from anyone.
These statements from the Taliban official come at a time when the group has promised the United States and other countries to sever their ties with other terrorist groups and not provide them with refuge.
