RASC News Agency: Afghanistani citizens residing in Canada have held a protest, urging global nations to “boycott” the Doha meeting. The protesting Afghanistani citizens in Canada organized a gathering and stated in a resolution: “Any outcome of the Doha meeting is invalid due to the absence of representatives from Afghanistani women and civil society.”
The Afghanistani citizens held this protest in Toronto, Canada. The protesters also accused the Taliban of “crimes against humanity, violations of women’s and minority rights, and illegal activities.” The resolution emphasized that the United Nations has not fulfilled its responsibilities towards Afghanistan properly.
They called on the United Nations and other international organizations to work towards establishing a “democratic government” in Afghanistan. The resolution also urged regional countries to assist Afghanistani citizens in combating drug trafficking. Meanwhile, the second day of the Doha meeting on Afghanistan is set to begin shortly.
It is noteworthy that Afghanistani women in Pakistan also held protests, boycotting the meeting and urging the international community to join them in boycotting the third Doha meeting. Afghanistani women were not officially invited to the third Doha meeting. The United Nations invited three Afghanistani women activists, who also deemed the meeting invalid and boycotted it.
Additionally, Canada criticized the absence of women at the Doha meeting, calling the situation “disappointing.”
