RASC News Agency: In response to the ongoing efforts to assist the victims of Herat, a Tajikistani official has announced the arrival of a humanitarian aid caravan from their country to Afghanistan. Ziyaullah Sahibjan, who is responsible for coordinating Tajikistan’s aid to the earthquake-stricken people of Herat, informed the media about the distribution of these aid supplies to the affected population at the earliest opportunity.
On October 17th, it was disclosed that the aid shipment entered Afghanistan through the Sher Khan Port in Kunduz province. Sahibjan further revealed that the assistance includes food supplies, tents, bedding, potable water, kitchen utensils, fuel, and construction materials. The estimated value of these supplies is 17 million Samanis, equivalent to 1.5 million dollars.
The Tajikistani official emphasized that these relief efforts were initiated on the orders of President Emomali Rahmon, in line with the principles of Imam Ali, to provide aid and support to the earthquake-affected people of Herat.
It is important to note that several other countries have already declared their presence and offered assistance to the earthquake-stricken inhabitants of Herat, some of which have already reached the province.
It should be mentioned that following the consecutive earthquakes, Herat province has faced dire circumstances, with its inhabitants suffering greatly due to the harsh conditions.
In a recent incident, a woman in Herat tragically lost her life due to the extreme cold weather and lack of adequate resources.
