RASC News Agency: Food and cash were distributed to at least 3,979 families in Herat, Ghazni and Panjshir provinces by a number of international relief organizations.

Sources in Ghazni province say that the International People in Need Institute distributed cash to at least 2,694 needy families in Malestan district of this province on Sunday, August 27.

According to sources, an amount of 11,020 Kabuli/Afghani rupees has been distributed to each family.

The local authorities of the Taliban group in Herat province also report the distribution of food by the World Food Program (WFP) to at least 1,648 families in this province.

This aid has been distributed to the residents of Karukh district of Herat province on Sunday, August 27.

On the other hand, food was distributed to at least 835 needy families in the center and district of Hesse Awal of Panjshir province by “ACW” institute and some other relief organizations.

However, a number of citizens of the country want the continuation of such assistance from international relief organizations.

These assistances are provided while poverty and unemployment have spread in an unprecedented manner since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan.

Before this, the International Committee of the Red Crescent said that 55% of the people of Afghanistan need humanitarian aid.

This committee said on Thursday (August 24) in the report of the first half of 2023, that only in the first half of this year (from January to June), 581,548 patients, most of whom are women and children; has helped in 47 health centers of the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society.

This institution has also said that it has provided three meals to more than 12 thousand prisoners in 11 Afghanistan prisons during this period.
