National Resistance Front Claims Killing a Taliban Member in Kabul

RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan claims its forces have recently launched an attack on Taliban members in Kabul as part of their ongoing operations against the group. According to a press release issued on Tuesday, July 9, by the National Resistance Front, its forces targeted Taliban members at 8:25 PM last night at the entrance gate of Police Township in Kabul’s 4th district.

The Front claims that the attack resulted in the death of one Taliban member and the injury of another. The statement from the National Resistance Front reads, “No harm was inflicted on the National Resistance Front forces or civilians during this operation.” This comes amid a significant increase in attacks by the National Resistance Front on Taliban members in various provinces.

In a related incident, the National Resistance Front claimed on Sunday night that its forces attacked Taliban members in the Deh-e-Kurgul area of Duab district in Nuristan, killing one member of the group. The Afghanistan Security Watch Analysis and Monitoring Team reported that during the second quarter of this year, there were 57 attacks by the National Resistance Front and 19 attacks on Taliban members by the Freedom Front.

Since the Taliban’s takeover of the country, opposition fronts have declared their intent to continue attacks against the group until it is completely dismantled. Meanwhile, former U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton previously stated that to resolve the crisis in Afghanistan, the Taliban must be sidelined, and support should be provided to anti-Taliban resistance groups.
