RASC News Agency: Renowned Dutch researcher Frank Hogerbits has recently issued a warning regarding the possibility of a more potent aftershock following a series of earthquakes in western Afghanistan. Taking to social media on October 15, Hogerbits shared his prediction, highlighting that the Middle East, particularly Afghanistan, Turkey, and Romania, may endure stronger aftershocks as a result.

It should be noted that this is not the first instance of Hogerbits accurately foretelling an earthquake. Last year, he successfully predicted the earthquake in southern Turkey, as well as in northern and western Syria, three days before it occurred. The recent earthquake and subsequent aftershocks have inflicted significant losses and widespread devastation upon the people of Herat.

According to a recent report released by Doctors Without Borders, the earthquake that struck Herat province last week has resulted in a staggering loss of over 2,445 lives, with thousands more sustaining injuries. Moreover, subsequent aftershocks have claimed the lives of two individuals and left over a hundred others injured in various parts of Herat province since Sunday, October 15.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that on the same day, a relatively potent earthquake rattled Kunduz province in the northern region of the country. Unfortunately, there is currently no available information regarding the casualties caused by this particular earthquake.

Given the earthquake’s devastating impact in Herat province, the demand for urgent humanitarian assistance has significantly escalated in the affected area. Consequently, several countries around the world have already pledged their support by providing vital aid, including monetary contributions, food supplies, medical provisions, and tents to assist the victims during this difficult time.

Two women murdered by their husbands in Kapisa province RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Kapisa province, two women have been reportedly murdered by their husbands within the last 24 hours in the Hese Awal of the Kohistan district. The first incident took place around 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, in the village of Ghafarkhil, situated in the Hese Awal of the Kohistan district in Kapisa province. The victim, identified as Muska, was allegedly shot and killed by her husband, making use of a Kalashnikov weapon. Moreover, local sources have informed about a second incident that occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, in the same village of Ghafarkhil, located in Kapisa's Kohistan district. The incidents, both within the same village, involved a man named Qand Agha, who purportedly killed his wife utilizing a hunting rifle. Family violence has been reported as the motive for both murders, as shared by local sources. It is worth noting that during the two-year period of Taliban rule in Afghanistan, incidents of family violence have witnessed a significant increase, with housewives being the primary victims. Experts attribute this disturbing trend to factors such as poverty, unemployment, mental health issues, and broader societal problems. The tragic and brutal torture and killing of Afghanistani women and girls are not new issues as they belong to a vulnerable group within the community and frequently endure repressive violations in the country. However, women's rights activists and human rights defenders are actively engaged in protesting and advocating for the rights of women nationwide, while two women were brutally killed in a single village within a day.
