RASC News Agency: The Takhar Women’s Movement has issued a heartfelt appeal to the international community and global institutions, urging them to take definitive actions to safeguard the rights of Afghanistani women and prevent the pervasive violation of their human rights. This plea comes as a response to the oppressive constraints imposed by the Taliban, which have sparked continual demonstrations by Afghanistani women. The movement stresses the critical need to officially recognize the plight of Afghanistani women as an unequivocal manifestation of severe gender apartheid.
On the 15th of October, the Takhar Women’s Movement released a comprehensive resolution outlining their demands. They implore nations worldwide and human rights organizations to undertake urgent and practical measures to protect women, prevent human rights transgressions, and combat gender discrimination and violence in Afghanistan. The resolution emphasizes the urgency for tangible actions rather than mere rhetoric and ineffectual reports.
The protesting women are also calling for the nullification of the Doha agreement between the Taliban and the United States. They beseech the international community to terminate all interactions with the Taliban and categorically refrain from acknowledging their legitimacy in any manner.
Furthermore, the women participating in the rallies in Takhar are urging the citizens of Afghanistan to bring forth a lawsuit in the International Criminal Court, compelling its prioritization of investigating the “crimes against humanity” perpetrated by the Taliban group. Additionally, they are requesting support for the establishment of an all-inclusive government in Afghanistan.
In their resolution, the courageous women of Takhar express their unwavering belief that the United Nations and all nations should never allow a terrorist and mercenary group to wield power and hold the Afghanistani people hostage. They emphasize the imperative of endorsing the formation of a government that encompasses all segments of society.
Moreover, these resolute women firmly assert that the unyielding desire of the Afghanistani people, particularly women, is for the unconditional termination of the Taliban group’s reign in Afghanistan. This sentiment persists despite the harsh restrictions imposed on Afghanistani women and girls since the group’s takeover, which have ignited widespread protests and impassioned reactions.
It is essential to note that the Taliban group has already detained and subjected numerous women participating in the demonstrations to excruciating torture in various provinces across the country.
