RASC News Agency: With escalating pressure on Afghanistani immigrants living in Pakistan, the country’s governmental authorities have recently announced the apprehension of numerous undocumented individuals. Haris Nawaz, the Acting Minister of Interior for Pakistan’s Sindh state, addressed the press on Monday, October 9, revealing that the nation’s security forces have detained approximately 1,800 immigrants lacking proper documentation.
Furthermore, Nawaz underscored the need for a systematic approach to deporting Afghanistani immigrants from Pakistan. He emphasized that individuals without valid residency documents will be promptly repatriated to Afghanistan via Chaman crossing, while those with legal documentation will be permitted to remain in Pakistan.

In an official statement directed towards Afghanistani immigrants residing in Pakistan without legal authorization, a representative of the Pakistani government issued a warning. Failure to depart the country by the specified deadline will result in the government seizing their residences and freezing their bank accounts.

Simultaneously, the Pakistani government has granted illegal Afghanistani immigrants until November 1 of this year to voluntarily leave the country.
Pakistan’s decision to deport illegal Afghanistani immigrants has generated various responses from both domestic and international legal institutions, who consistently urge the Pakistani government to reconsider.
It is important to note that recent events within the country have led to a significant increase in the number of Afghanistani immigrants seeking refuge in neighboring nations, particularly Pakistan and Iran.

According to reports, approximately 4.4 million Afghanistani citizens currently reside in Pakistan, both legally and illegally.
Moreover, various international migration organizations jointly released a statement urging Pakistan to reverse its decision.
In addition, Pakistani officials assert that this decision was made in accordance with domestic legislation, and the country remains steadfast in its determination to enforce it.
