RASC News Agency: In a recent joint statement, 80 countries called on the Taliban to lift the restrictions on women and girls in Afghanistan “as soon as possible”.

The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Mission to the United Nations (UN) announced on Wednesday morning, 4 October 2023, that this declaration was submitted to the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee on Wednesday morning.

The representative of the United Arab Emirates added that we ask the Taliban group to cancel the decrees that violate the human rights and freedom of women and girls as soon as possible and said that the role of women is very important and valuable to have a developed Afghanistan.

It is stated in this statement that women and girls in Afghanistan have been consciously and systematically excluded from the society.

This statement has been signed by the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, the European Union and 75 other countries.

Nevertheless, the Taliban group has always not voted positively in response to these demands and has asked the countries of the world not to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.

It is important to note that after the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, the group continued to impose many restrictions on women and girls in the country. Women and girls’ rights to study and work have been the most targeted by the Taliban.

Now, no girl upper than sixth grade have the permission to go to school and continue her lessons, as well as, all universities are banned on the girls and women.
