RASC News Agency: The EU’s special representative for Afghanistan has called the arbitrary arrests of Afghanistanis who defend their rights and others as illegal.
Thomas Nicholson said that these arrests are making it harder to build the trust needed to build internal legitimacy and have a good conversation in Afghanistan.
Mr. Nicholson said in a post on social media platform X that he has joined the campaign to get Matiullah Wisa, Zhulia Parsi and Nida Parwani out of the Taliban group.
This is despite the fact that Nabileh Masrali, the spokesperson of the European Union, has previously called for an end to arbitrary arrests of Afghanistani citizens by the Taliban group and said that the group should release human rights activists, including Zhulia Parsi and Nida Parwani, along with their families as soon as possible.
This UN official also demanded the release of Matiullah Wisa, an activist for education rights in Afghanistan, who has been imprisoned in the prisons of the Taliban group for almost six months.
It is important to note that prior to this, other governments and international organizations also called on the Taliban to release the human rights activists who spoke out in defense of their rights and the rights of their people. So far, the Taliban group did not respond to any of these requests for their release.
Detention of the Afghanistani girls and women is not a new issue, they arrested and tortured these women and girls from two years ago, since they took over the Afghanistan and got the control of the country.
