RASC News Agency: Women’s rights activists from Afghanistan have once again staged a sit-in in a tent in the German city of Wiperfort to protest against the country’s “gender apartheid”.
In a video posted on her Facebook page Friday, Sept. 29, Ms. Pariani, one of the organizers of the sit-in, said that “even though we went on hunger strike in Cologne, Germany for 12 days, 17 days ago, none of the countries or international organizations paid attention to our demands.”
She also said that this time they had not gone on a hunger strike, but that their sit-in would go on indefinitely. Ms. Pariani said that they are demanding that the government recognize “gender apartheid” and end the “cruelty” and “criminal activity” against the people in Afghanistan.
She also pointed out that during the time when the Taliban had taken control of Afghanistan, many women had been protesting both inside and outside of the country. She said that taking away the rights of women and girls to education and work was one of the main causes of the protests and gatherings of women and girls in Afghanistan.
Tamana Zaryab Pariani is one of the female protester which held hunger strike with a number of other Afghanistani girls and women in Germany for the recognition of gender apartheid.
Afghanistani women and girls since the domination of the Taliban group in the country many times protested against this group inside and outside the country against the Taliban group restrictions and prohibition on Afghanistani women and girls.
