RASC News Agency: The World Food Program (WFP) has announced that the humanitarian aid of this organization for the needy in Afghanistan has been reduced by half, and this organization will only support three million people in Afghanistan due to the lack of funds.

This international organization wrote on X social media on Thursday, September 28, that in August, more than six people in Afghanistan received food and financial aid from this organization.

According to the information of this international relief organization, currently more than 29 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid, and half of the recipients of this aid are women.

The World Food Program added that between May and October of this year, nearly 15.3 million people experienced extreme food insecurity, and among these, 3.4 million people are in constant need of humanitarian support due to extreme hunger.

This is despite the fact that the World Program had previously warned many times about reducing its aid to the needy in Afghanistan.

It should be noted that the World Food Program is currently facing a budget deficit of 1.08 billion dollars to continue operations in Afghanistan in the next six months.

Meanwhile, it is said that prolonged conflicts, climate change, severe economic decline with unemployment, cash shortages and rising food prices have caused Afghanistan to face one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world.
