RASC News Agency: National Council of Resistance for Salvation of Afghanistan has called for a research and investigation by the United Nations regarding the killing of the residents of Joi Now Uruzgan, who are mainly Hazara and Shia people.
This council accused the Taliban forces of “systematic” killing of members of the Shia and Hazara community in “Joi Now” area of Uruzgan Khas district of Uruzgan province and said that the United Nations should investigate these killings.
The National Council of Resistance for the Rescue of Afghanistan, with the presence of a number of political figures outside last night (Saturday, September 23), said in a statement that local forces related to the Taliban group in Uruzgan Khas district have systematically killed people in the last two years mainly Shias and Hazara.
This council added that local armed people supported by the Taliban in this area have set fire to fields, houses and people’s property, cut down trees and looted the properties of the residents of Joi Now.
In the declaration of the National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan, it is stated that the Taliban group has not yet taken any measures to prevent these inhumane incidents and chain crimes, and they have not arrested anyone for their involvement in these incidents.
This council also added that two of the commanders of the Taliban group are suppressing people in Panjshir and Andarabs and have committed such tragedies.
This council demanded immediate action from international organizations, especially the United Nations, to prevent the killing of the residents of Joi Now, and said to conduct serious research on past incidents and share the results with the people of Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned that in the latest case, on Wednesday September 20, Haji Hassan and Ali Khan, father and son, were first arrested and then killed in Tangi Sabzchob area, a Pashtun-inhabited area in Uruzgan Khas district, by people whose identities have not been determined so far.
According to information, during the past two years when Afghanistan has been under the control of the Taliban group, 17 residents of the Hazara region of Joi Now have been killed.
Local sources in Joi Now say that the motive behind killing and destroying the property of the residents of this area is ethnic tension; people belonging to the Pashtun people are taking these measures to evict the residents of Joi Now from their areas.
It is said that during the last few decades, due to ethnic tensions, half of the families living in Joi Now region have been forced to move.
