Taliban: Snowfall and Cold Weather This Month Have Led to the Deaths of 60 People

RASC News Agency: The Taliban Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management has announced that snowfall, rainfall, and cold weather from the first to the twenty-second of this month have resulted in the loss of 60 lives across the country. According to video footage released by Janan Sayeq, spokesperson for this Taliban ministry, on Wednesday, Mar 13, during this period, an additional 23 people have been injured.

The Taliban group’s official stated that the precipitation during this period has led to the complete or partial destruction of 1,645 homes. The spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of State for Natural Disaster Management added that the rainfall and cold weather have also resulted in the death of 177,911 livestock during this period.

Furthermore, he mentioned that during this time, with the collaboration of international relief agencies, food supplies and cash assistance have been distributed to 220,415 families by this Taliban ministry. It is noteworthy that during this solar month, several provinces of the country have witnessed repeated snowfall and rainfall, resulting in the loss of lives and injuries in some provinces.

Moreover, this precipitation has led to the closure of transportation routes in several provinces of the country and has also caused the death of a significant number of livestock.
