RASC News Agency: The officials of the Ministry of Public Health in Kabul province announce the opening of the Mother and Child Hospital in this province.

Qalandar Ebad, Acting Minister of Public Health, said at the opening ceremony of this hospital, which was held on September 10, that the construction of this hospital can play an effective role in reducing the mortality of mothers and babies.

He added that the death rate of mothers and babies in the country has decreased and in the current year, 255 out of 100,000 children have died during childbirth across the country.

According to Qalandar Ebad, the “Baby and Mother” hospital was built with the cooperation of “Bayat Foundation” in the premises of “Indragandi” Child Health Hospital, which has the capacity to admit 84 mothers and babies.

The Acting Minister of Public Health added that the Children and Mother Hospital operates in the treatment of infectious diseases, surgery, internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology.

He said: “The Children’s and Mother’s Hospital has 84 beds, of which 24 children and 60 mothers are treated at the same time in the departments of infectious diseases, surgery, internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology.”

Officials of the Ministry of Public Health confirmed that the cost of building this hospital, which is equipped with standard medical equipment, was paid by the Bayat Foundation.

Ehsanullah Bayat, the head of the Bayat Foundation, says: “296 million Kabuli/Afghani rupees is the cost of building this hospital, which was built with standard medical equipment, and we are trying to improve the operation of this hospital in various departments.

It should be noted that this hospital is being established in Kabul province, since the Taliban took control of the country, with the increase in poverty and unemployment and damage to the health sector along with other sectors, the rate of children contracting various diseases and the death of mothers has increased in the country.
