Arrest of 12 ISIS Fighters in Badakhshan Province

RASC News Agency: Local sources in Badakhshan province in the northeast of the country confirm that Taliban forces have arrested 12 fighters affiliated with ISIS from the provinces.

Sources told the media today (Saturday, September 9) that these ISIS fighters were identified and arrested during several special operations of the Taliban group.

According to sources; this military operation of Taliban forces has been carried out in the last few days in parts of Badakhshan province, and a quantity of light and heavy weapons have been obtained from the arrested persons.

The sources added, these weapons and technical devices include (two shafts of Kalashnikov type weapons, 2865 types of bullets, hand grenades and explosives, laptop computers and technical equipment).

 

On the other hand, another source confirmed to RASC news agency on the condition of anonymity that the Taliban do not want to make the arrests of ISIS member’s public.

According to this reliable source, ISIS fighters who are arrested by the Taliban in Badakhshan province are imprisoned and tortured secretly and sometimes even in the personal prisons of the Taliban commanders.

Based on the information of this source, the Taliban want to keep the detained ISIS members away from the public and the international community and to state that the ISIS group does not have a physical presence or activity in Afghanistan and that the detainees of this group are tortured, beaten and Sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, countries in the region have repeatedly expressed concern about the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group.
