RASC News Agency: Local sources in Balkh province in the north of the country confirm that the Taliban group has arrested six people from the city of Mazar-Sharif, the center of this province, on charges of listening and playing music.
According to sources, these people were having fun and listening to music in a happy place (circumcision of a child) in the 9th district of Mazar-e-Sharif city, when the agents of the Amr Bil Maruf Taliban group attacked them.
Sources today (Saturday September 2) say that this ceremony was being held last night, and the music was turned off after the presence of military and civilian agents of the Taliban group.
However, Abdul Rahman Hanif, the spokesman of the Department of Amr Bil Maruf of the Taliban in Balkh Province, confirmed this news and said: “The arrested persons will be introduced to judicial institutions.”
The residents of Balkh province have strongly criticized this action of the Taliban group, saying that this group does not want and will not allow people to be happy in their circles and ceremonies.
They pointed out the ban on playing and listening to music, and emphasized that some videos of the Taliban group have been published in which they secretly listen to music, but forbid it for other citizens.
After coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban group created many restrictions and obstacles for the citizens of the country, one of them is listening and playing music, which according to the principles of the Taliban, this is considered a crime and the perpetrators are punished.
It should be mentioned that the Taliban had previously arrested people for playing and listening to music.
