RASC News Agency: The residents of “Sarcheshma” area of Jalriz district, Maidan Wardak province, were forced to pay hundreds of thousands of Kabuli/Afghani rupees by the Taliban group after the claim of a Kochi man.

Sources in this province confirmed to the media on Thursday, August 31, that based on the claim of a Kochi four years ago about the disappearance of 180 sheep, the Taliban group has decided that the residents of this area must pay 1,750,000 Kabuli/Afghani rupees.

According to sources, this Kochi man has claimed that his flock of sheep was lost in the Sarcheshma area in 2018, and he blamed the local residents.

The residents of Sarcheshma area denied involvement in this incident and said that during the past two months, the Taliban group arrested the elders and influential people of this area several times, until finally they were forced to accept the payment of this amount.

The local officials of the Taliban group in Maidan Wardak province have not said anything about this so far.

The Kochis have previously received huge compensations from the local residents based on similar claims with the support of the Taliban group in most of the districts in the central regions of Afghanistan.

Earlier, people’s sources reported that the Kochis beat up at least five native residents of the district in “Hessa 2 Behsud” district of Maidan Wardak province.

One of those who was beaten told the media that when he and 15 farmers were busy cleaning the mill, “about 60 Kochi men and women” attacked them.

This man said that the Kochis attacked after the residents of “Tagab Ramoz” area drove their cattle and herds out of their fields.

This man added that a number of farmers managed to escape, but he and four others were arrested and beaten by the Kochi.

The farmer added that he was beaten the most, to the point where he could not walk.
