RASC News Agency: After the Taliban group banned women from entering Band Amir in Bamyan province, the head of the women’s department of the United Nations Human Rights Office says that the Taliban group, among other prohibitions, even takes nature away from women.
Heather Barr, the head of the women’s department of the United Nations Human Rights Office, wrote on Sunday, August 27, by publishing a message on the X/Twitter network: “The Taliban, who are not content with depriving girls and women of education, employment and free movement, want parks and Sports and now even nature will be taken away from them.”
She added: “Step by step, the walls are being closed to women; because every house becomes a prison.”
Ferishta Abbasi, a researcher of the Asia department at Human Rights Watch, published a message calling the banning of women from entering Band Amir “complete disrespect for Afghanistani women”.
Richard Bennett, the special rapporteur of the United Nations Human Rights Council for Afghanistan, also took advantage of this order of the Taliban group and wrote on the X/Twitter social network: “Someone should explain why this restriction on women’s visit to Band Amir is to comply with Sharia and Afghanistan culture, it is essential?”
Meanwhile, Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, the Minister of “Amr Bil Maruf” of the Taliban group, said during his trip to Bamyan province that after these women, they will not be allowed to go to Band Amir.
He cited the reason for this decision as “women’s non-observance of hijab” and asked the officials and members of the Taliban group in Bamyan province to implement the order “forbidding the presence of women in the Band Amir”.
With the emergence of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, this group has imposed many restrictions on the social life of girls and women.
