RASC News Agency: The freedom-seeking women’s movement, which is one of the women’s protest movements, warns that if the international community does not pay attention to the wishes of the people of Afghanistan, especially women, the women of Afghanistan will go on a hunger strike.
This movement published a statement on Wednesday, August 23, under the name “Terror in Afghanistan” and said that on August 15, 2021, Afghanistan, through a “secret deal” arranged by the countries involved in Afghanistan, “terrorist Taliban” was handed over.
According to this movement, handing over a land with nearly forty million people to the “Taliban terrorist group” by international intelligence organizations is an “unforgivable betrayal and crime”.
The statement states that in the last two years, Afghanistani women have organized numerous protests around the world and demanded the cessation of financial and political support to the Taliban group, the sanctioning of the officials of this group and the ban on their travel, and they still strongly emphasize these demands.
These protesters have said: “Afghanistani women in exile once again ask the international community to stand by Afghanistan and take care of their demands and fulfill their human responsibility towards Afghanistan.” “Otherwise, our protest will continue through hunger strike, even if it costs our lives.”
According to this movement, after the domination of the Taliban group, Afghanistan has turned into a nightmare. The psychological, emotional, physical, economic and social security of the people has been destroyed and Afghanistan has become a big prison for the people of Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that the Taliban group has imposed increasing restrictions on people, especially women, after regaining control of Afghanistan. This group has banned girls and women from going to middle and high schools, universities, working, attending sports, recreation centers and even beauty salons.
The libertarian women’s movement has said that women do not even have the right to custody of their children, choose their clothes and leave their homes without a husband, brother or father.
According to this movement, women are denied the right to visit doctors and hospitals without one of their family members.
The statement of this movement states: “Taliban members forcefully marry teenage girls and make them their second, third or even fourth wives. There is widespread sexual abuse and women are killed in brutal ways and their bodies are left on the streets. Protesters and female activists are imprisoned, tortured, humiliated and killed. “All these crimes are hidden from the media cameras and the families are not allowed to protest.”
The members of this movement have emphasized that due to the depth of the tragedy and the crimes committed against women, the practice of “gender apartheid” by the Taliban group in Afghanistan should be recognized.
Previously, while reflecting on the performance of the Taliban group in the past two years, United Nations experts have said that gender discrimination and harassment against women and girls is applied to such an extent that it is a crime against humanity, and the discussion on the formulation of “gender apartheid” has made it necessary
