RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Justice under the administration of the Taliban group has announced the complete ban on the activities of political parties in Afghanistan and has said that there is no place for the activities of political parties in the system of this group.
On Wednesday, August 17, the officials of this ministry said that the activities of political parties are not permissible in terms of “Shariah” and “the people” do not want them.
They claimed that the group’s effort to “conquer Islamic Sharia” has no precedent in the history of Afghanistan and emphasized that in this regard, they have “completely banned” the activities of political parties in Afghanistan.
Before this, the officials of this ministry accused the political parties of “divisiveness” and said that the parties have divided the people of Afghanistan into different groups in terms of language, geography and culture, and these parties, without dividing the country by different names and solving the problems to create for people, they have no other function.
This is despite the fact that according to the database of the Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan, before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, at least 73 parties had received political activity permits from the Ministry.
After the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, most of the politicians and leaders of political parties left Afghanistan, and currently some of the leaders of these parties continue to operate outside Afghanistan.
The prohibition of political parties is one of the principles of the Taliban group during the two rounds of governance in Afghanistan.
During the years 1996 to 2001, when they ruled over three quarters of Afghanistan, this group also refused to compromise and cooperate with other parties and groups, and currently they do not show any compromise with political parties.
