RASC News Agency: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that the Teacher Training Centers (TTC) for girls, which were active in six provinces of Afghanistan with the support of this organization, were closed in August this year.
UNICEF has said in a report that these centers were closed on the orders of the Taliban group, and with the closure of these educational centers, 670 female students were deprived of education.
In the continuation of the UNICEF report, it is stated that since the beginning of this year, 2,683 girls have been trained in the education department throughout Afghanistan; however, these centers were closed in August of this year and they are trying to talk with the local authorities of the Taliban group and reopen these Teacher Training Centers (TTC) for girls.
Children, especially girls, used to study in the educational centers created by UNICEF, but now these centers have been closed, especially in the south of Afghanistan, and the six provinces where the activities of these centers have been stopped are not mentioned in this report.
According to reports, UNICEF has established Teacher Training Centers (TTC) for girls in Kandahar, Paktia, Bamyan, Khost, Daikundi, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Zabul, Kunar, Laghman, Badghis, Helmand, Nimroz, Farah and Ghor provinces, including Kabul.
This is despite the fact that after the Taliban regained control over Afghanistan, the education of girls above the sixth grade and their education in universities was banned by this group.
In addition, the Taliban group has banned the employment of women in government and non-government organizations, which is said to have had a negative impact on the amount of aid from donor countries to Afghanistan.
In its report, UNICEF has warned that the continued restrictions of the Taliban group on women will affect humanitarian aid programs and worsen the dire humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
