RASC: Residents of Imam Sahib, Archi, Qalayzal and Aliabad districts of Kunduz province are worried about the deteriorating security situation and the increasing presence of the ISIS group.

These districts are next to the Amu Sea route or border with the districts of Takhar province, which according to their residents, the presence of unknown and masked armed people has been a source of concern for them.

These residents say that masked gunmen roam around in many parts of their villages at night, sometimes they create checkpoints and take people with them, and their fate is unknown.

These sources add that the commanders and some officials of the Taliban group, who started their war against the previous government from the districts and villages of Kunduz and managed by recruiting under-age teenagers, now go to the same villages with fear or do not go at all.

According to them: “The Taliban group considers the safest place from the security point of view to be their headquarters in the city and their offices.”

Sources say that if the black masked people who are seen in the villages are members of the ISIS group and may then carry out violent behavior in the areas under their control and cause the destruction of infrastructure and people’s daily lives.

According to these residents, although the ethnic and religious tensions and the clear discrimination of the Taliban group have taken root in the entire country since the last two years; But this festering wound becomes inflamed with the presence of ISIS and as a result, it will lead to house-to-house wars.

According to them, if the presence of ISIS in the north of the country is ignored and the construction of training centers and the recruitment of poor and unemployed youths continue, the ranks of ISIS will become more numerous and stronger day by day and pose a great threat to the residents of the area, the entire country and the countries of Central Asia, including Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

With this description, the knowledgeable people are of the opinion that in the first step, if the same two or three bordering countries of Central Asia, in order to solve their own security threats, arrest the northern resistance front only in the two areas of weapons and logistics; By joining this front, the native people of the villages and towns neutralize the Taliban and ISIS groups in these areas, and the cities and towns in the north of the country fall one after another.
