RASC: Following the recent floods in Maidan Wardak province, which caused a lot of financial and human losses, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan (OCHA) announces the assistance of international aid organizations for nearly a thousand families affected by these floods.
The Afghanistan branch of this organization wrote in a tweet on Wednesday night, July 26, that these donations were made in the health care sector, provision of drinking water, food and creation of temporary shelters in seven districts of this province.
OCHA has not provided information about the exact amount of these donations.
According to the information of this institution, 30 people died and 25 others were injured due to the floods in Maidan Wardak.
Based on the information, as a result of these floods, 400 residential houses were completely destroyed and 600 other houses were damaged.
While speaking about the distribution of aid to Maidan Wardak flood victims, the United Nations Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office has previously accused the Taliban group and aid organizations of neglecting this issue.
Not long ago, the residents of Paktika province complained about the indifference of the responsible institutions to their situation, that no relief organizations and government officials paid attention and help to these victims.
It should be mentioned that in the last few days, several provinces of the country, including Maidan Wardak, witnessed severe floods, which caused huge financial losses to the people in addition to the loss of lives.
Meanwhile, floods every year at this time of the year in different parts of the country cause great loss of life and money to the citizens of the country.
