RASC: After the developments arising from the Taliban group’s domination of Afghanistan and the escape of a large number of citizens of the country to various agents in neighboring countries, the Guardian newspaper reported that a female judge who escaped from Afghanistan and was hiding in Pakistan, and the United Kingdom refused to accept her asylum case, has succeeded in obtaining a refugee permit.
Nevertheless, this 53-year-old judge, whose real identity has not been revealed due to security challenges, managed to get the right to go to the UK after a long legal battle with the British Home Office.
At the beginning of this year, some reports were published that hundreds of Afghanistani who fled to Pakistan after the Taliban took over were forcibly returned to Afghanistan.
The British Home Office is said to have initially denied the judge and her son permission to travel to the UK, telling them they were eligible under the Afghanistan Relocation and Assistance Policy, and her lawyers have appealed.
This female judge is currently accepted in the resettlement plan for Afghanistani citizens by the British Home Office.
They have recently arrived in Britain and have been able to integrate with their British relatives.
It should be noted that this case could open the way for many other vulnerable Afghanistanis living in Pakistan who are eligible for one of the UK’s resettlement schemes, but have not yet received permission to enter the country.
It should be noted that after the Taliban took control of the country, many employees of legal and judicial institutions, especially Afghanistani women, left the country in order to save their lives and went to Iran or Pakistan to reach a third country.
