RASC: With the arrival of the Muharram ceremony and the imposition of restrictions on the organizers of this ceremony in different provinces of the country, the Department of Amr Bil Maruf of the Taliban announced the imposition of restrictions on the Ashura ceremony in Herat province.
Sources said on Friday, July, that the Taliban group told Shia scholars and elders in this province that they can only hold their ceremonies in four areas of Herat city.
Azizul-Rahman Al-Mahajer, the head of this department in Herat, said: “During Muharram, things that violate the law and Sharia, such as the mixing of men and women and the entry of women without hijab into the ceremony, should be prevented.”
However, it is not clear what other things this group considers to be in conflict with Sharia during the Muharram ceremony. Meanwhile, the well-known head of the Taliban group in Herat talks about veiling while this department in Herat has ordered women not to go to the city without (Hijab) and (Chadari), and in some cases, these women have also been detained.
It should be noted that the Taliban group has imposed many restrictions on Hussaini’s mourners in the provinces of the country, especially in Kabul, in recent days. It should be mentioned that the members of this group have clashed with some residents of the west of Kabul after banning the installation of Ashurai flags.
