RASC: Police command officials in Daikundi and Faryab provinces have reported the suicide of three women in the past four days.

Yesterday (Thursday, July 20), Ghulam Ali Jawid, the spokesperson of Daikundi Police, in an interview to a local media, informed about two suicide cases of women on Monday and Tuesday of this week in this province.

Mr. Jawid emphasized that on Monday, July 17, a 17-year-old girl named Rana hanged herself and ended her life in Miramor district of Daikandi.

He added that the cause and motive of this suicide is not known yet.

He also said that on Tuesday, July 18, a 28-year-old woman named Tahira hanged herself in Pitab Azmuk village of Shahrestan district of Daikundi province.

Police spokesman of Daikendi says that the reason for this young woman’s suicide has not been determined yet.

On the other hand, the police command of Faryab Province confirmed that a 25-year-old woman committed suicide in the district of Belcheragh on (Tuesday, July 18).

Faryab police command said that this young woman’s name is Khalida and she committed suicide by eating dead rats.

Sources have also told the media that Khalida was her husband’s second wife and she committed suicide due to neglect during their life together.

This is despite the fact that the number of suicides has recently increased throughout the country.

Mental illnesses, forced marriages, family violence and mental pressure caused by poverty and unemployment are the main causes of suicides.
