RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat Province in western Afghanistan report that the deputy commander of the Taliban in Karukh district of this province has killed two of his wives. A local source in Herat Province, who chose not to reveal their identity in the report, informed RASC News Agency on Monday, June 5th, that the deputy commander of the Taliban in Karukh district of Herat Province had enjoyed substantial economic prosperity until struck yesterday.
The source detailed that one of the deputy commander’s wives in Karukh district of Herat Province was pregnant with twins, both of whom perished due to gunfire, including the unborn child. According to the information provided by the source, the deputy commander of the Taliban in Karukh district showed no regard for his wives and had repeatedly issued threats to these two women, stating that failure to comply with his demands would result in him taking a third wife.
Meanwhile, a source at a local hospital in Herat Province, speaking on the condition of anonymity, corroborated this news to RASC News Agency, confirming that the bodies of these two women from Karukh district had been transferred to this medical facility. He reported that this incident took place yesterday in Karukh district, and the deputy commander of the Taliban in this district has since fled the scene.
Akbar Abidi, a civil activist in western Afghanistan, conveyed to RASC News Agency that some time ago, certain Taliban members had been involved in similar acts of violence. He emphasized that the Taliban have steadfastly adhered to their misogynistic beliefs from their inception to the present day, with no discernible shift in their mindset, despite regaining control over Afghanistan. Moreover, he asserted that the Taliban pose a menacing presence in society, resulting in the arbitrary deaths of girls and women from diverse backgrounds.
He argued that if the Taliban were truly humane, the current suffering of the Afghanistani people would not persist in this manner. Thus far, Taliban authorities in Herat Province have refrained from commenting on this matter, and it is noteworthy that this is not the first instance of women being killed by the Taliban.
Since seizing control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have ruthlessly murdered numerous women and girls.
